How to Activate the Pirate Shop in Fortnite (and When)
Short answer: in the lobby, open the Shop tab, select Plunder the Item Shop, then press Activate Now. Your 14 days start at that moment. Activate the 2026 window by Dec 15, 2026, 7 PM ET; the 2027 window is Jan 1 – Dec 15, 2027.
How to activate the Pirate Shop
- Finish the match and return to the lobby. Claim the reward if the game prompts you.
- Open the Shop tab.
- Select Plunder the Item Shop (bottom right of the Shop).
- Press Activate Now. The 14-day window starts immediately.
- Claim items: anything sold for V-Bucks shows as free while the window is open.
The reward screen also says Protect your plunder!

When to activate the Pirate Shop for the best 14 days
The Item Shop refreshes daily at 00:00 UTC (7 PM ET), so one window covers 14 shop rotations. To get the most from it:
- Wait for shop drops you want. If a collab or skin you want is announced for a set date, start the window so it covers that date.
- Activate just after a shop reset. Starting right after 00:00 UTC gives you the full 14th rotation.
- Do not wait until the last day. The deadline is for pressing Activate. Whether a window started on Dec 15 runs to Dec 29 has not been confirmed.
The activation planner takes your start date and shows when your 14 days end and how many shop resets they cover, and it warns you if you are past the deadline.
The 2027 Pirate Shop activation
The second activation can be used from Jan 1 to Dec 15, 2027, according to datamine reports. The time of day has not been published. It works the same way: 14 days of free V-Bucks items, starting when you press Activate.
